I also agree to the post stating all jumps and tunnels in the first 1000 feet or so be on a map. I went in one time looking for the second jump. It was the second "marked" jump actually, we took the second jump and after 100 feet figured out it was a s***hole and turned around. The map showed no such place, but it was lined so therefor one would think it was the right one.
Diving some sh**holes is the price you pay for not knowing the system yet. I'll never know even 1/2 of JB like some of you, but I have fun anyway. Diving even the "less desirable" passages is still better than work.

Sidemount was invented for cave that's not on the map, knots and protractors were invented so you can map it!

Kinda sounds bad doesn't it? Maybe its better to say it doesn't appear on any map?
No one ever said anything about not sharing. In due time. How long did it take Steve Berman to survey and map Devil's? I don't dive Devil's much but my guess is JB is a lot more extensive. Besides, it's not the only project.

They're still mapping the deep section and the connection to Shangri La.

If cave diving were Star Wars, who would be Yoda?

This is what I am learning:

Things can and do sometimes go wrong during training. I have always realized that, but it is clearer than ever now.

Do not agree to a dive plan that I do not fully understand.

My core skills must be 100 percent before I am ready to advance.

Do not assume that an instuctor can help me if things go wrong during a drill.

If things do go wrong do not panic. Use the skills I have practiced relentlessly.

Even during training, if I feel the need to call the dive, then I must do it at that very moment.
    Well said +1

A lot of other people use this but I feel that it is very appropriate!
