Anyone have an idea of conditions at Jackson Blue?

Thinking of taking a four day weekend trip to escape some of this texas chill...

    Default JB Conditions

When we were there on Feb 13th it was clear and the flow was substantial but not too bad. That area got a lot of rain today, but my understanding is that it's rare for JB to be affected, and when it is it clears up in a day or two.

No doubt somebody local can give you more recent and accurate information.

I was there Saturday. Along with about twenty other divers.

80' vis, highest flow I've seen there in about a year.

Flow was pretty significant on Sunday. Visibility was in the 80-100' range. I was the first one in the system on Saturday and easily had 100', but JB has seen a lot of divers this past weekend. We had 2 pages of sign ins both days and that cave is pretty susceptible to diver activity. Like I said, flow was pretty significant in the main passage, not the highest I've seen it, but getting close. Off the main passage it was easily swimmable.

We dived JB Monday morning before heading home and the vis was still excellent, no problems. High flow, but not too bad, very easy to pull & glide.

We also did Hole & Twin on Saturday. Visibility was so-so @Twin, but two divers that exited after us said it cleared up. HITW vis was crappy downstream, but after a few hundred feet upstream was perfectly clear. No significant flow.

That's what I want to learn - how to go through a passage and have the visibility get BETTER after I've gone through it!

You grow a very long beard, clamp in in a rigid frame, and allow the silt particles to adhere to your beard as you move through the water. Kinda like a air conditioning filter.

Default Try Manatee for the best time right now

I was there Sunday too. Did the jump 400 ft down stream from Friedman the left side. The flow was way down in there and the vis was great. Never went in there before. Well worth the trip. I'm going back this weekend. Jeno was with me and she left a cookie and now we need to go and move it further back. HEHEHE
