A major diving publication has asked me to write an article on sexism in diving.

A woman write an article? Pfft Preposterous

In reality, it's a good idea. I don't know how many times I've been to a dive shop(outside of cave country) with my dive partner and the people in the dive shop assume she doesn't dive. It happens alot. And it pisses her off to no end.

No more than the male model types they're posing with. I prefer advertisements that contain actual useful information about products, but they're getting ever more scarce.

I think the broader questions you should be asking are. Why are there so few women in Cave diving? Would I want my sister, wife, cousin, girlfriend, or daughter to go into Cave diving? What would you caution them about? The women cave divers I know are exceptional, we could use more just like them.

I am sure it does occur but I haven't seen it. We make Tracy carry her own tanks and scooter. Now as far as hot girls in a bikini selling dive gear I personally prefer it. I had much rather have that than this.
