Default Potential threat to Lafayette Blue

My understanding is Blue Rox mining operation has applied for a permit in Sept,2013 to expand their operation. Those of us who go to the park will note that there is a mining operation on the west side of highway 27,but from what I have seen there are plans to expand to the other side of the road. There are some concerns of how this would effect Lafayette Blue.

Lets just rape and pillage the entire planet and strip her of her goods. It's good for business. Who cares if we have clean water to drink or clean air to breathe in the future. The children are going to be growing up in a very different world and it's really sad. Stuff like this makes me mad because people are so short sighted that they can't see the effects their actions will have on the future. Everyone is for me, me, me and their big bank accounts to hell with the rest of the world. It's sad and depressing. I can understand that people need to make money to survive but there has to be sustainable ways to do it. Is there any kind of petition we can sign to block this permit?

Perhaps we should understand what, exactly, they are doing and what, exactly they intend to do before shooting them down like dogs. I understand the passion, but if we shoot before the ready, aim part, it may not be helpful.

I don't think anybody is shooting them down, but trying to understand the implication. The spring shed in that area is poorly defined, and the cave map that is being used to understand where the impact could be,is missing a lot of passage. There is a concerted effort to acquire more information. I would say we need to be aware of a potential problem.

No, let's play it safe. Shoot them down like dogs, THEN find out what they were up to.

Make the next mining company think twice!

all the metal in our regs, hose fittings, tanks and vehicles we use to get to the dive sites came from mines - even the parts to make the computers we're using to post here...

Awareness is good. That's part of the "ready" part, and determines if sometime we will need to "aim".
