I think Walter is kind of over the web thing. TJ may have taken it over. I have hundreds of old photos, I have old maps, I have a site. I don't have the time or knowledge to put it all together. Can you help? The web site for the museum is www.overheadtimes.com

Walter is still alive and well in the web thing...I just quietly collect. Make some changes, add some maps (Mexico, etc.) and new surface shots from Matt.

Would be a pretty simple integration with Walter's site, too, if he were willing. When you click a cave, you could then choose "View History" and be directed to the museum's website, to a search page that shows all of the data for that specific cave.

It is very easy to do this type of thing. Hell, I would even host and maintain the site/data as a donation.

Do you know of any maps that might exist for cenotes like Nahoch or Calimba with specific details (p. values, depths, lines, restrictions etc.) similar to any of the standard Fl. cave maps that have been surveyed? I know of some stick maps of "Sistema Sac Aktun" but none specifically of those cenotes or with those details.

Very few caves show lines, I think the Ginnie one is about the only one I have seen. They change and the map would be out of date. I have a couple of Mexico maps but you would be better served to find a site in Mexico and ask them. I have seen some pretty detailed maps of many of the systems down there. I know both the CDS and NACD sell maps to the more popular sites in Mexico. Cindy

Not that I know of. I would like to know that myself. I don't know what happened to his stuff when he died. He was a fantastic photographer also.

Yeah, sorry.... I guess I'm a bit spoiled. I do have that Ginnie map, as well as a "Hole in the Wall" map with lines. I agree, other parameters like p. distances, depths and topographic elements are more valuable/important, along with the survey itself.

I'll look further. I did see a Nahoch map offered on the NACD site, but it doesn't give any details about it (ie. size, content etc.). I'll find out. I was more interested in the Calimba cenote, which I haven't yet seen in that kind of detail, although I have seen a few "Grand Cenote" maps.

James Hurley was working on a map of Charles. He used to be the NACD exploration chairperson. Maybe they know how to get in touch with him.
