    Default Peacock?

Has anyone been to Orange Grove or P1 lately? I'm newly cavern certified, and looking to get in some dives, but don't want to waste the drive up from Orlando for a dive I can't do because of low viz (never done Peacock, and I really want to give it a try).

    Thanks!

    Danny-

July 12, be there, no excuses. Peacock viz is PLENTY good enough for all of us to have a LOT of fun. I was there 6/19 and the viz was good enough to keep me smiling the entire way home!

The basin sucks, the cavern/cave is 30-50ft viz.....and COLD!

    Default Orange Grove

    Danny,

The basin is trashed, but as JJ said the cavern is pretty clean. I am not sure how much light the duckweed and poor basin condition will have on your DL zone at Orange grove. I didn't pay much attention to it when I was there.

Default Report Peacock June 22, 2008

    Orange Grove to Distance tunnel

    Basin 15' approx
Vis: 40-50' easy clear water not particles

Peacock 1 to Crossover Tunnel to Peanut Line approx 1500' on Peanut Line

    Basin 5' vis
Some portions of the tunnel seemed to have a tannic tint with vis about 20-30'
Peanut Line vis 40-50' or better.

    hope this helps

I talked to 2 guys who went onto P3 on Tuesday - they reported lousy visibility. I do not recall if they gave a number in feet for the vis.

Not too surprising, the headpool looked pretty bad on Sunday, the 22nd.
