Default Jackson Blue access fee increased to $500!

That's right! Apparently, people have been sneaking in with other divers because they don't want to pay the daily or annual fee. Chuck Hatcher was at the park today checking passes and making sure pass holders signed in. He will be doing random checks from now on. If someone is found on park property either without a pass or without signing in even with a pass, that person will be charged with criminal trespass and fined $500.

i am happy to see they are going after the individuals and not the entire cave diving community. I just hope it stays that way. If you can't afford the access, then go somewhere else!

That is pretty sad that cave divers are doing that. Peacock, that doesn't have a ranger station, has quite a few cave divers accessing the park and not paying.

Does the Park see people coming in to JB by boat as tresspassers?

Rebreathers are something that we have to go to in order to dive the way we want to dive. They are not something we go to for any other reason.

Also just stay in the water from boat to cave. If you are on the shore and they are doing a check it could put you in a position for the fine.

and,if your dive flag isn't posted that will result in another fine.

That is a shame, probably the same ones who leave their used catheters on the edge of the water. I used to "clean up a few" every time I dived from the park. Before I bought my boat I kept an annual pass. I think it is good that Chuck is checking. Too many people worked to get access to JB. If a few get spanked compliance will follow.

I'm sure they are the same ones sneaking into Cow with there buddy too. JUST PAY THE F__K UP. 1000's of $$$ on gear and training and you sneak into the park.

You cannot step on land without a pass and signing in. The county manages the land from Twin around to Shangri-La. If you go by boat, you must anchor or tie to a tree. And don't step foot on land.

If I could make a suggestion, and provide clairificaton that the annual fee for Jackson Blue is $150, and the fine for tresspassing is$500. When I first read the thread, it sounded like the annual fee for JB increased to $500.
