Jackson Blue

All,

I had the wonderfull pleasure of diving Jackson Blue this weekend (20/21 May), and the cave was amazing to me. The flow was, from what I understand, exceptionally low, and I very much enjoyed the cave I could see within my training.

My question is there seemed to be a lot of area that was not depicted on the current map that I was able to find around the site. Does anyone have a more recent map, or know of anyone who has completed a more recent survey? Not that I am complaining I'm happy to have any map at all! Have a great day.

I'm speaking more about what titen was saying. The deep section, kings bypass, queens bypass, etc. There are also some other tunnels around the first breakdown that aren't on the map. I realize that the current map is very extensive and it would take me many years to explore all of it, but it seems like everyone just scooters past the first couple thousand feet. It is clearly not just a single tunnel as depicted on the map.

I thought Kings Bypass and Queens Bypass were on the current map? I poked my head into some of the unmapped tunnels in the first 1000' feet and they seemed to get real tight fast.

The map I saw at Edd's had the names written on there, but did not show the actual tunnels for kings/queens bypass. Kings Canyon is on the map I know. The tunnels around there do get tight, but there are some you can navigate with doubles

What about the shallow section within the deep section? Or the deep deep section within the deep section?

The map at edd's is the only one that has been published and it is far from complete...the cave is ripe for a new survey...have at it cave divers! The deep section is too gnarly for new divers and only those that have reached the highest level can be expected to be given the go ahead. So...after you have been to the end of the line beyond the alabama and bananna rooms and into the terminal room, drunk the waters from source nouveau, found the opening connecting crinoid glory back to the mainline, and then made the avalanche alley to kings connection, then you MIGHT be ready for the deep section.
