who says you have to draw? It should be already drawn and ready to fire.... just an observation, it does take less than 1.5 seconds for the intruder to reach you, and if they are armed then you will likely be surprised, takes less to point (not aim really) at center of mass and pull the trigger.... it is all a moot point now, yes?

I am far more proficient with firearms than katanas or any blade, so I'll stick with them.

Sorry if it was unclear, I meant that you with a blade will be faster than the reaction of an intruder with a firearm (assuming he's not expecting to be interrupted). Not everyone owns firearms. I don't, but if I had a katana, I'd gladly use that.

You'd run over them with a Suzuki sportbike?

I would be happy to donate my new webcam pistol. It fires a .45 bullet into anyone as needed. All you have to do is hookup the cam with attached pistol in a strategic area, and power up the remote controlled trigger device, it will pull the trigger with one click of the mouse. At the present time however, it has a small bug, it dumps 19 with one click.

But seriously folks, let's put our money where our mouth's are, and hopefully stop this from happening again, because next time it could be something of real value to us. (i.e. Sheck's stuff) I very much like Forrest's idea of attaching a recorder to the system and I believe that this would not add too much to the total cost. If the manager's could work out the details of how much money they think they might need and where we can send our donations, such as the pay-pal account Cindy spoke of earlier in this thread, we members could begin to send our donations and solve this problem . respectfully, Jon Darren Wells NSS- CDS #58946

Barb, don't forget about us in CA....we can't even get CCW. I need to get mine in FL.

Cindy, Tom, I am sorry to hear this; I know how hard you work to keep the museum up.

but you need to install two cameras, according to my lawyer---one to catch the thief, the other to install whoever rips out the other camera.

Well some good did come from this. I now know that we have a museum and can donate some cash upon my next trip. Sorry to hear the bad news.

I've never been to the museum so I don't know the resources available. If there is a computer there, you could hook up a relatively inexpensive webcam to it and purchase software to display it and record video upon motion detection.
