While location probably played a small role in it there was more to it than that. I put a lot of effort into organizing that event and got great results. I also created a little controversy that didn't end up playing out to anything as I knew it wouldn't but we all know how cave divers love drama...

Rob... They are a lot of work by all volunteers involved. All done for the good of the organization and its members. After being involved with last years Workshop, my hats off to anyone who has taken that it on in the past.
Hats off to you and other people that have stepped forward to do this job. I have had the privilege of helping with a couple workshops ,and it was a rewarding experience,and encourage others to do the same. These people really work hard behind the scenes,and make everything appear seamless,as well as handle all issues without the participants being burdened. I thoroughly enjoyed the 2014 Workshop (once the effects of the night before had worn off). The Memorial Day holiday conicides with a public holiday in the UK so it would suit me better if it was held then, although I don't know if I can make it in 2015. Pity about the river levels this year.

To be clear about the previous change of dates. A BoD member proposed and lobbied for the change of dates the first time around because he was never able to attend because of holiday weekend work commitments planned well in advance. Attendance was down but revenue was up. That same BoD member did not show up for the workshop even though the date did get changed.
Jared, safe to assume Memorial Day weekend again this year? Obviously you guys have been super busy, but hoping to plan the trip down there, so location and confirmation of the dates would be great
The workshop will be the week-end before Memorial day.

No, it won't. The "weekend before Memorial Day" is May 23 and 24. There will be less confusion if you say it is "a week before Memorial Day weekend.
