I know Jeff was making a joke about the bends, but I do think that you should contact DAN. There are several things that could cause fatigue after a simple dive. Hypoglycemia, and Diabetes come to mind. Jay has a point too, have you checked for CO in your tanks

I'm a shallow or skip breather and have found the same issues, I've played around with non standard or hotter mixes than the 32% with some success. Dan will blame it on skip breathing or such(I've called). I don't have this issue on the rebreather( Maybe a little helium helps, no?) . I'll be very interested in your outcome.

My theory is the easiest to test. Do you next shallow air dive nice and warm and toasty and see how you feel. I was always dog tired after dives until I get better thermal protection.

I always skip breathe and I'm never tired.

My dad blame his fatigue from swim dives on that.

You are in the 75% of the population area. I really hope Phillip1 get some understanding of what is wrong, and kudos to him to ask the question. When I first read his comment,PFO went through my head.

    Default Tired after diving

Hydration make a big difference for me. I do not get overly tired but on dive trips when doing a lot of repetitive diving or extended dives I can tell when I am not properly hydrated.

I don't feel super tired, it does not feel like anything is wrong or abnormal, I am just curious as to why diving would make you feel tired at all since there is no real effort involved in swimming underwater.
On dives like the El Toro project we had 2.5k of scootering, then 2.5 hours of lugging tanks over a dry cave and then swimming for another 4000ft laying line, there I was tired too but nothing abnormal either, the dry cave part was hard but the scootering and swimming was not really any big effort.
When I do shallow 1.5 to 2 hour cave dives I feel as tired as if I went surfing, I don't feel bad at all, just tired in a good way.
My theory is that even though I don't get cold much, my body to maintain a constant temperature has to burn a lot of calories for the duration of the dive and that is what makes me feel tired.
My heart is ok, I had it checked for everything prior to my knee surgery at NYU.
I am just curious, DAN said that diving for two hours is roughly the physical equivalent of jogging for 20-25 minutes but could not explain why exactly.
