The NSS reach out to me and asked if the CDS would desire to host webinars on cave, cave diving, etc. I have tried to reach out to everyone I think might be interested but if I failed to ask you please let me know and I will put you in contact with the right person at NSS.

    Thanks
    TF

    Here's the official announcement:

Life in Submerged Caves: Aquatic Cave Biology, by Skip Kendrick

Join us for a Webinar on October 17

    Space is limited.
Reserve your Webinar seat now at:
    https://www4.gotomeeting.com/register/435273047

We are pleased to announce that Skip Kendrick, a member of the NSS Cave Diving Section, will present Life in Submerged Caves: Aquatic Cave Biology. Life found in water-filled caves ranges in size from microbial mats to larger cave visiting fish, creating delicate—and fascinating—ecosystems.

This informal webinar is designed for non-scientist cave divers, cavers, and the layman that have an interest in underwater caves. The talk will discuss the many different habitats found in caves, from the entrance area to the dark zone.

Skip will discuss animals that have accidently entered caves as well as highly adapted cave life, with topics including how they get into caves, how they become adapted to life in submerged caves, and the importance of water quality in the survival of these unique ecosystems. Finally, Skip will discuss what the caving and cave diving communities can do to ensure the survival of cave adapted species.

Register early as limited spots are available. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the webinar.

You had to go and make it BM vs SM, huh?

I have cancelled the Webinar. The NSS keeps sending me emails each one with different dates and times. When I contact them I am told this or that one was a mistake and has been deleted then a day or two later I get another email from them with the same date and time or some totally new date and time. I have no clue when they actually and really scheduled the webinar and finally in frustration told them to cancel the whole dang thing.

What if some of the more IT-smart people on the CDF got together an impromptu video cast to whatever audience we could drum up at a time of your choosing? If it costs money for the video cast, I'd chip in some money to make it happen. I'm sure we could get costs covered by the cave diving public whether people are from the CDS or not.

Then I'm sure we could find someone to host the video for future consumption too, TJ?
