This misinformation resulted from one of my instructors who had what I would call a "major brain fart." When I heard of this "change" - I questioned my instructor since I just completed a DPV cave course with Jim and and right post primary - as always - was the rule. We apologize to Jim for this misunderstanding which was totally not his fault or problem. It was ours, and I have cleaned-up my own house regarding this situation.

Now there was only me and this timeless, eternal cave. I felt part of things, a tolerant guest.

Glad this all worked outThanks for all the great, open communication! Nicely done, gentlemen!
It is an excellent example of why students need to learn why they're doing something a certain way, instead of just "because this is how it is done."
I may forget whether the left post is "my" left or left when facing the rig, but I will be more likely to remember that valve rolls that way and could roll off with forward motion. If my buddy's breathing off that post and I roll it off accidently, he won't buy me dinner later.
Kinda like why our math teachers made us show our work, even if we "knew" the answer (argh, those drove me NUTS!).

My name is Shirley Kasser Creech and I approve this message. Well, at least one of me does, anyway. Maybe. Fire. Sharp things. Squirrel!
Shirley you're not serious? No, I'm not, but do stop calling me Shirley.
