I was sitting a Dive Outpost one day and a guy shows up with a deco reg he wanted to sell. He said he had purchased a new setup and was trying to sell his old one. Well the guy was stupid enough to leave his real name and number incase someone wanted to buy it. Kathy was smart enough to write down the sn#, brand and model. When the guy left she called the cops and to no ones surprize it was reported stolen. She gave the info to the cops and they arrested the guy.
It also shows it is worth submitting a police report.
IF Ginnie Springs is serious about twarting theft, they could mount several inexpensive cameras in the trees around the entry points and connect them to a DVR and post a few signs stating that the area is monitored. Obviously, this would not help for underwater theft but you get my point. They probably already have at least one DVR already recording cameras at the register and gate. The only problem is their "clients" may feel inhibited.
