are we only allowed to use the store bought feather merkins or can we wear our DIY merkins?

Some areas are unknown because no one has ever ventured forth, Some are unknown because no one has ever returned.

DIY?? Well to be honest Adam we require DIR configured merkins. Feathers must be from the pink feathered Dodo with the release clasp worn on the right hip. If you choose not to dive this configuration no one will want to mud wrestle with you..

Does anybody have ANY idea why I started this thread? If we don't get a new social director by the workshop we'll have to cancel the social.

I KNOW somebody that lives in the High Springs/Branford/Gainesville area will step up.

Russell, are you trying to hijack this feathered merkins thread?

    Russell,

As much as I love discussing merkins, allow me to ask a few questions.

1 - How many people are going to show up?
2 - Is there any budget for this, or a per person cost?
3 - Why in the world don't you cater the damn thing? Someone call Sonny's and get a per person price, and all cheapskates just pony up a few bucks and bring snacks and drinks?
    Try:
    http://www.sonnysbbq.com/images/stor...ering_menu.pdf

Unless they have drastically changed, Sonny's used to be cheap. less than $10.00 per person.

I live a long ways from Jenny. I haven't been there in over two years, and frankly, hate going to the damn place. I would rather dive Harvey's 5 times than Devils once.

I know that there are people within the NACD, NSS_CDS, GUE, Halcyon, Dive Rite, EE, Cave Excursions, CEE, Cave Adventures, and god knows who else that reads this board regularly, instead of waiting for someone to call you asking for a few bucks or a door prize, why don't you PM Russell and offer a little something. Hell, I will send a few merkins, and a balot.

I am sorry to have started this whole thing with my sick, twisted sense of humor, but if nominated, I won't run, if elected, I will not serve, however, I will gladly wear a feathered merkin.

It takes a sick, twisted sense of humor to recommend Sonny's "barbecue" to southerners!
