    Default Withlacoochie Springs

I was scouting the With today for next weekend's paddling festival so I got to take a real close look at every spring.
    1. Madison looking good but greenish divers reported dusty but nice conditions and a strong flow coming from Godzilla. River is still up high enough for the beach to be all under water. I would suspect great conditions in the next few weeks.
    2. Pot and Morgan pretty bad vis but both are flowing. Does anyone know about Morgan? The property looks private all around but can you still dive from a boat? Or do you need the owners permission?
    3. MAD610982 - Does anyone know if this spring is dive-able? It is right near the power lines before CR141. The water was flowing nicely from a large entrance and the clarity looked better than Madison Blue.
    4. Suwanacoochie and others are flowing strong but pretty much river water is coming out seems like the norm for these springs now.

You can dive Morgan, but you need to sign a waiver and pay a fee. Check in at Cave Excursions before proceeding to the site.

I haven't seen Morgan clear in years. Ask Bill when the last person signed in to go there.

No, where did that name come from? It looks like the way WMD numbered the river caves on the Suwannee, and Santa Fe.

Correct I looked it up and that is the only named used. The spring itself is just feet downstream from the power-lines that go over the Withlacoochie before the CR141 bridge. link is here:

of the dozen springs we passed on Sunday this was the best for flow and clarity. I have kayaked this river probably 20 times and somehow I have missed it. A higher water it may be covered.

    Found it in another thread:

Interesting BTW that picture on the report the water looks even better right now. Also made me re-think the damage Sabal trace pipeline may do...
