    Default Indian Springs now Open

The safety bottles are back in Indian, and it is open for diving.

Keith Mille and I were in last Weds, and the visibility is as follows:

    Basin - 6-10 feet
    Cavern - 30-40 feet
Mud tunnel - wall to wall
    Downstream - 100 feet plus.

I have a similar report from upstream, Jason put the bottles in there.

The list of guides is here:

All of the diver applications and waivers are here:

Indian is about as good as it gets. Requirements are 100 logged dives after full cave, tri mix, DAN insurance - Roughly the same as Emerald.

Where can I find the official rules and regulations for diving Emerald and Indian?

My application for diving Emerald Sink was just approved and I have also met all the requirements for Indian, but I would like to read the offical stuff so that I am not hit with any surprises.

I was told it is OC only.
I can't find any mention of it being OC only.
If I show up with my guide and my rebreather, can I dive?

    Don,

"To dive at Indian springs on CCR is tough, because it is a guided dive and to do it CCR, the guide and you must be on the same rebreather and the guide must be an instructor on that rebreather, and you both must have at least 100 cave dives on that rebreather. it is tough to find someone available that meets all these requirements."

This is the information as I Know it from Capt Addis. Vince is a guide there, but I do not know any guides that are also REVO instructors.

    Good luck,

    Mark

I just spoke to Jason Ottinger about rebreathers. He told me:

"Rebreather guided diving has not been approved by the current Local administration and Corporate YMCA Headquarters. Once the proposed rebreather policy is accepted and guides are in place, guided rebreather cave diving will be allowed."

Sounds like a rEvo instructor needs to apply to be a guide at Indian Springs.

No,contact one of the guides on the list, and they will take care of the paperwork for you.

On a sidenote,Indian is good right now because of the drought, but this could change with the tropical season. Go dive it,this is an excellent cave dive.
