    Default New spots to dive

My buddy and I have now been to
    Orange Grove
    Peacock
    Cow Springs
    Manatee Springs
    Catfish Sink
    Devils Ear
    Devils Eye
    Little River
    King Spring
    Convict
    Devil's Den
    Blue Grotto
    Paradise Springs

We only have a cavern ratings and stick to them, but we like to check out even nice entrances, just looking for something different.

Royal is on the list for this trip, but we would like something better and different. We may try Teleford if we can figure out how to access it from shore.

    Madison requires Full Cave.

Please send me some suggestions, PM if necessary, closer to Mayo is better, we only have a quick weekend.

Thanks for any help and hints your willing to share.

    David

    Troy Springs
    Devils Den
    Blue Grotto
    Paradise Springs
    Alexander Springs

Those are all well known and on that side of FL. There's a ton of other stuff, but you'll have to gain the trust of another diver or do alot of research on your own to find them for the most part.

In the panhandle, Jackson Blue(park accessible) has an excellent cavern(along with caverns at ShangriLa, Twin cave, and Hole in the Wall on the Mill Pond - will require a boat which you can rent at Cave Adventurers). Morrison is great too(park is closed at the moment though), Vortex has a cavern. Cypress has a nice cavern, but will require a boat/canoe. Those are some of the more known dives in the panhandle, lots of other stuff, but you'll need to work to get at them.

    David,

Telford has no cavern to speak of.

Are you sure that Madison is full cave only ? I think this was discussed here before and it was mentioned that it was open to cavern. I know intro people that have dove there with me. It has a great big cavern. Silty but plenty of ceiling height to stay away.

The shoals are there still, the winds howl loud, the rain beats down, the waves burst strong. Some night, in the chill darkness, someone will make a mistake: The sea will show him no mercy. John T. Cunningham

Neither does Convict, I'm surprised you even got access with a cavern card. Last time I was in there they required a full cave with a sidemount specialty to get in the water with dive gear and I signed a waiver. They weren't going to let Brian Kakuk in because he didn't have a card. Luckily his name was on the back of my SM card...as the instructor

It's bad luck to be superstitious.

I dove Madison as a cavern diver without anyone Full Cave with me. I wouldn't call its cavern great big, but its definately enough to goof around in for a dive.

I revised my initial post, I forgot a few. I thought Troy had no Cavern or Cave and in any case did not allow lights. We've done all the mainstream stuff looking for the farther back quiter things now.

Madison is definitely Full Cave I called and verified.

    Here is our current list:
    Royal
Blue Hole/Jug Hole, which is in DeLoach's book, but I've heard not worth the walk.

    Telford??

    and

Alexander, if somebody will get me there.

Oister thanks for the Tampa link I've been ther looking already.

The Pan Handle is our next trip.

So who wants to extend a little trust??

Thanks again for any help I can get.

I've been dry caving for years so I understand the Beta process.

It's a walk alright--1/4 mile! Are you diving a single tank? If so, that would be much more tolerable. Or borrow a cart as we have done. Jug Hole is a very pretty cavern in my opinion. But that's just my opinion.
