The very first time I saw Little River the water level was almost exactly the same, about two steps under water above the landing on the stairs. I had no idea that there was the walkway and retaining wall until I got to dive it about 10 months later.
More than a few people doubted my assertion that the water levels can get that high.At least the parking lot is not under water.

The first time I dove Little River, cold tannic river water was halfway up the stairs, and there was a semi-permanent line run from the stairs to the rebar. But LR was still springing and very diveable. Must have been more water in the aquifer then.

awesome pics. Makes me feel better since I can't come down and dive from NC.
Just wondering what the status of Orange Grove and P1 is as of today looking out toward next weekend.
I have a trip planned for the weekend of February 6 & 7 and am trying to figure out if I should reschedule the trip.
Manatee was looking very nice today even though we could not enter or exit from the head spring due to ... manatees.
Flow is down and the vis is up and there were only two teams there today.
Manatee was just gorgeous over Christmas holidays that we were there. It is the best time to dive this, low flow, good vis. We did the traverse from Manatee Spring to Catfish hotel! It was really nice... although it still took me two efforts in order to get in from Manatee Spring. Even if the flow is down that spring is kicking!![]()

I was just thinking the same thing. The first time I ever dove LR (many years ago), the tanic water was much higher than this, but it was still very diveable. I wonder if and when the aquifer will recharge to the point that these floods don't cause most of the caves to siphon?
