Thread: Memorial Day

    Default Memorial Day

Just wanted to take a second out of the diving to say thank you to all of the Service men and women that have and still fight for our freedom today. If were not for you, we all couldn't enjoy this long weekend with friends and family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. God Bless the USA!

Thanks for mentioning that. I talked with my Dad today, and forgot to mention to him my/our appreciation for his efforts, and those who served us. Thanks to all of you who have made the sacrifice.

Agreed, thanks for starting the thread. Thanks to all our service men and women, past and present, for all you do.

And thanks to the families...the sacrifices you make supporting your serviceman/woman often goes unrecognized...but we remember...and we appreciate it.

A friend of mine has two small children, and a husband in Iraq. She has a t-shirt that reads "Army wife...sexually deprived for your freedom." It makes me grin, but also reminds me of the "everyday" sacrifices all of those folks are making.

    Thanks y'all!

Shirley you're not serious? No, I'm not, but do stop calling me Shirley.

Thanks to all of our service women and men for all they have done, do and will do. Specially to my Father who is a Korean War Purple Heart recipient veteran and right now is enjoying the Memorial day celebration at Washington D.C.

    Blessings and long life.

Here are a couple of photos of the memorial to the 4,945 who have lost their lives in Afghanistan and Iraq. There is a marker for each person and has person's name, military branch, age, and date of death on it. They are spaced 4-wide, organized by year and go along the street for many blocks (at least .5 mile) and this year for the first time have started back down the other side of the street. The display is sponsored by Veterans for Peace.

I agree with this! There cannot be anything harder watching a love one leave for war, nothing harder then keeping a smile on your face in front of the kids, family and friends while inside you are terrified and screaming. Most of all nothing harder then learning you have lost your loved one and continuing on with all your support for the one still fighting. You do not go unrecognized!

    Thank you,

For the friends that I served with who lost their lives I will never forget you. You guys were my true friends I miss you.
