Uh, Russel (Oister) you can state your opinion, but let's not get nasty, or disrespectful about it.

What is disrespectful in his statement about the "cool kids"? It's not like you can deny that kind of mentality is going on at the CDF... right?

It was what he said in the post *title* that was the problem.

Still looking for volunteers to bring side dishes to the social. I'm going to provide the hamburgers / hotdogs / buns. Is someone wants a different meat, such as chicken, they should bring that.

Please PM me with the item you are volunteering to bring. I estimate we will have between 30 - 50 people.

    Thanks !

The New Years eve social at Ginnie went off pretty well. Ginnie provided us with ice and an entire small pickup bed of wood for the bonefire, which was much appreciated in the 50 deg night air. Thanks to Dayo Scuba, TJ, Sludge and the NACD for providing many of the giveaways, topped off by a Hollis bottom timer and Nitrox Computer, and congratulations to Mark for winning the scooter race ! Thanks to many others for bringing various tasty foodstuffs and their company !

The galaxy dive was outstanding ! Sludge did his usual fine job of releasing the non-toxic glow material, which filled the ballroom with points of light. We had 20+ divers enjoy the display, then those diving wet raced back to the bonefire or the warm showers after !

On a troublesome note, someone seems to have picked up Sludge's Mako scooter, you can find that thread in "lost and found". Let's hope he gets it back ! Pretty poor start to 2009 for whoever took it.

I had a lot of fun meeting new people at the New Year's party. Here's my best picture of a new friend:
