Heat waves radiating off my limbs post dive , hands that were hot to touch... People that have dove with me know just how much heat I was putting out... I was warmer.... but that was then.... I'll take the trade off of a lower body weight and having to wear a wetsuit/drysuit.... and I still get comments when I'm in a shorty... ... I think I'll just continue to dive my comfort level...

Why yes that was me in shorts and a t-shirt oops, a drysuit @ the 700' marker

Again you don?t understand what youre reading in your post. I have no doubt you felt warm. When I was fatter I was warmer on dives. When I lost weight I needed more insulation.
What I discredit and disagree with is that you stated youre warmer in shorts and a tshirt than with exposure protection. There is no science that makes that accurate.
But I digress and will not comment further because we?ve gone way too far off track and I blame myself. But when people talk out of their asses its hard to keep quiet. Thats on me. If cdf has an ignore member function maybe a mod can show me where it is.

Is that what this was all about... for that I am truly sorry.... at that point in my life I would have had a heat stroke in a wetsuit, lets not even discuss a drysuit. So let me clarify, to have added a wetsuit or drysuit to my diving at that point in my life I would have been extremely warm to the point of discomfort. I was definitely warmer in shorts n tshirt than other divers wearing wetsuits/drysuits... I ended one dive at Peacock where some diver had blue lips while in drysuit and hood.

I mean I only made the same direct statement 3 times, so I can see why its so confusing.

I just skimmed what you were saying, I'm so used to being flamed on here that I don't read EVERYTHING verbatim. Shoot me. Are we at least on the same page now?

Thanks everyone for your responses. I should have mentioned that I would be purchasing these tanks, not for cave but for open water diving in salt. Since I am not enrolled in a cave course (yet) I do not have an instructor. My recreational instructors all dive vertically upright like sea horses so they do not know anything about trim. My tech instructor was a small woman, whose gas consumption was super low. She would dive on tanks that were very small and never needed anything above those 80s! How can she tell me which tank to use when she has not used either. Her advice was to select a tank based on your SAC rates and your physical dimensions. Best she would do is direct me to her students who are of similar height as me OR I could reach a wider demographic on this forum.

Anyway ... I thank everyone for your useful inputs. Based on Tbone's response, I think I will go with an HP 117. I have dived those in doubles and they work well.

spend the extra money and get the galvanized ones if you're diving in salt! Well worth the bit of extra money for the corrosion resistance.
