ALERT: Merritts Mill Pond - Marianna, FL

Repairs are scheduled at the Blue Springs Recreation Area around the outer wall of Blue Springs, which will require a drawdown of the entire pond. The drawdown will start November 12, will last a minimum of one month, and will be lowered a maximum of six feet.

Will diving JB still be allowed? Would be nice going to stratosphere if they draw 6 ft, all that area in the back will be an air dome. Hope it will not collapse under its own weight though.

Yes, JB will be open to diving and they are hoping that you will be able to get to Twin as well. They will know for sure once it has been drawn down.

Hole possibly won't be accessible. Twin however should be by having the boats at the JB docks. They will know a lot more on the 12th or 13th.

An extra 6ft of head is going to make for a hell of a scooter, nevermind swim

access to all the caves on the pond is normal. JB is crackling clear with almost no flow. century tunnels and consolation corridor have wall to wall vis, but getting there is kind of a trip.
