Is Cave Training BS?

[OFG-1]

Cats aren't qualified to judge cave training, they don't even like water.

[OFG-1]

No but evidently about a third of the training curriculum is no longer needed since all cave divers dive sidemount and we aren't training explorers anymore since that was all done post 1979 to.....well pick a date...and the restrictions are all wallowed out.

You are obviously looking in the wrong places.

I stand corrected

That cat is mad at the world though, look at it's face!

Of course it is, it's a cat.

It looks to me like his corrugated hose is on the wrong side- maybe that's the problem?

No, there is plenty left to explore in Florida, but it is getting harder to get to unexplored passage. There is more outside Florida, but the water is colder, and the visibility is lower.

there is plenty in Mex. with warmer water + great vis

No, I heard last week in a presentation that we don't train explorers anymore so many of the skills and rules don't apply. Very reliable source. I guess I better unknot my reels. Thank god we don't have to fight the flow both ways like in the 80s.

That could lead to a cat-astrophic failure
