mine have been since I went to the split crotch strap. The dive rite padded one is nice, but the split is that much nicer, especially on a wetsuit

If you y'all would run your scooters at a reasonable speed, there would be no need for padded, or split crotch straps. You get a lot less distance running full tilt, than running at a reasonable speed.

a lot more deco though... I usually run my UV26 on top speed going into the high flow caves to save on deco and it makes reasonable headway. I wouldn't run something like a Magnus/Xk1/bonex etc on top speed, been there, done that, was distinctly unpleasant

I do see the XK1 used from time to time, there is one on ebay now. When you reach my age, you start having to make certain value decisions. As example, even for the costs of a used XK1, I could probably hire a young cute drool nurse for a month, to wipe the spittle from my chin and give me a sponge bath, and maybe cookies. And its not that many years till I will need one, or at least pretend to, so I have a cute nurse hovering over me. Or, it would be enough for my widow to buy a cute pool boy for a few days, or spend a good weekend in Vegas. Who am I to deprive her of that in her time of grief ?

Top speed and UV-26 is an oxymoron
Also I don't see any issues running any scooter at full speed even with a standard crotch strap. I've never had any discomfort with that, but then again I don't scooter in a wetsuit.

Yeah, but that might get your wife slightly angrier than a used scooter... you also can't sell the nurse after a few trips...

I agree about the UV-26. Have you tried a Genesis at top speed

I the cave i usually run mine around 100' or so as I like to see the cave. Its the high speed bursts or covering ground in OW that mistreat the boys.
