    Default Peacock line committe dissolved

Since this has become a discussion item on another forum I thought I should go ahead an bring this up. The Peacock springs line committee that was created 10+/- years has been dissolved. Due to a rule that doesn't allow volunteer divers in state parks this committee will cease to function. The primary function of the line committee was line repair and replacement as needed, and providing information to park staff post-flooding events to help with their determination, as needed ,for opening. The NFSA will be happy to communicate changing conditions and or opening/closing of the park as we know it,but future line maintenance will be something that the community will have to determine. Thank you needs to be extended to people who have sacrificed their time to help provide these functions at the park. The NFSA board has a meeting scheduled this Saturday at the OG pavilion at 1:00pm, we would like to hear your suggestions, and ideas. Thank you.

Appeal the decision further up the chain of command.
Have the volunteer divers sign waivers to not hold the state liable for accidents while conducting volunteer line work dives.

Wow the definition of cut off your nose to spite your face. A volunteer group that makes things better safer etc. I guess all those old folks in RVs working the parks should stop too? Or is it just divers?

Sad news...if the line committee can not be sanctioned then keep it open and do not associate it with any government operation.
Who says we can not have a volunteer line committee in the community? We can do what ever we want amongst ourselves.

There are plenty of problems with the big O, but I think Rick Scott is closer to the Florida State Parks than Obama.

Let me remind y'all that rule #6 says that comments political parties will be removed if found to be inflammatory or cause the discussion to be uncivil.

Can't the state set aside $20 to pay each person $1? Then they are not volunteers. Problem solved.
