Definately. Me personally, I would love to see reports that detail the "cool bits " to see.. I guide a few dry caves over here and you always show your victims the nice formation, like the ghost" or the crystal chandelier etc. I would find a report detailing where in the cave certain points of interest are most useful in deciding where to go in that cave and even which caves to visit in my short stay ... Afterall. we do this to enjoy ourselves, not just punish ourselves

An analogy comes to mind, when I am changing in a towel into or out of my surf shorts or wetsuit every now and then someone will start b!tch!ng about the fact that I am changing in public and whatnot to which I always reply "if you don't want to see, then don't look" lol

In the meantime maybe a sticky on the travel advisor section of the forum would be useful - Cave Country Restaurant Reviews!

With regard to the question posed by the OP, I like reading dive reports. The CDF is the only forum I visit where I read every post. Some of them are useful, some are entertaining, a few are neither. The signal to noise ratio is very high on this forum compared to others I've visited.

I seem to remember all the fun "sneak dive" stories. That would get the ol' board fired up!

Lamar had the best dive story of all time. The free flowing reg followed by buzzard poo carpet bombing was my all time fave.

If cave diving were Star Wars, who would be Yoda?

I make it a point to go as often as I am in Branford at mealtime.....
You do that Jim. You have an impressive digestive system....

As someone who is preparing to those first step towards cave diving, I read and appreciate the trip reports and pretty much all the forums. I currently lurk in the shadows reading all I can and dreaming of making the dives that you my digital mentors are making. Thank you to all those of you who have gone before me blazing the path and returning to post the experiences and insights that I can use to hopefully one day go from the "wannabe" to a cave diver.

You may not be banging my door down to want to dive with me after I file a newbie trip report, but posts/reports offer me the insight as to who I might seek out to ask if they would consider a dive at my level and/or a few pointers.

As a wreck diver I mentored..... as a cave diver I look to be mentored. Top and bottom perspective.

    9/11....... I remember .........

    two things:

    1. nell's buffet is awesome

    2. I dont read them or pay any attention to them but I realize other people's interests are different than mine
