I suspect is isn't GSO, but some jealous diver(s) that cut boat lines.

I never heard of divers cutting ropes to boats out near the springs? I would think GSO would be a more likely culprit to be honest, since they can't line their pockets from boaters... Doesn't hurt any of the divers.

If anyone has been seeing divers cutting boat lines, I'd like to hear about it.

    It is an unsubstantiated rumor.

Depending on what type of boat there is the Eddins Boat Ramp. Not really a ramp, but more of a canoe launch. It is at the end of NE 60 Ave just after you turn off NE 70 St. My biggest concern was leaving my car parked there as the place kinda has the old Telford like feel to it, but I never had any problems.

And that alone is apparently in GSO favor.

How far is it? I wonder if you could just scooter it?

Whenever I take the boat to Ginnie I launch at Rum Island Springs, it is an easy run to the cave. At Ginnie, if the river is not loaded with tubers, I anchor near July springs. It is shallow enough to stand, an easy swim to the cave, and less worries of a missing boat when I come back...

Another thought, if you tie to the log on a busy weekend, expect to come back to a boat full of empty beer cans.

Here are the two closest I am aware of, as Google Earth files.

I don't drink beer on deco, so don't blame me for the cans. I used to boat up to Ginnie when I lived on the river. I tied off to the chain many times on weekdays and weekends. I did that and I also let an anchor out the back end in case someone did cut me loose while diving. I also forced a German Shepherd and a fierce Bullmastiff (that is another tale) to take the ride and guard the boat and my beer while I was underwater. I never had any issues then, but today things are noticably different. A non-diving buddy might be the way to go. Hopefully, she has a good book, some shade on the boat, and a bikini on.
