Default Indian Dive & Ferris Construction Project :)

What an amazing day at Indian Springs.

To start off with, we got to chat with Bill Main as his group exited while Vince and I were getting ready.

Had a great dive, we scootered upstream to end of gold line with the scooters on 4 for a nice leisurely dive. The visibility was better than expected given the recent rainfall. We had 60-80 ft starting in the Mud Tunnel, and continuing upstream until around 1700 where the vis started to Drop. By 3000 the vis was around 50 ft. This is not the best vis I have seen in Indian, but it is the best I have seen in 6 months.

After the dive I joined Vince for a pre workday Ferris Construction project of building a tank bench that doubles as a resting spot for the campers. As he did for the Emerald steps, Vince did a bit of an overdesign Using the existing fence as the back of the bench, we added an additional fence post in the middle to help support the weight and then added 5 posts to support the front of the bench.

When it was all done I took a photo of Vince with his latest creation.

You guys did a nice job with the bench. Don't tell Vince I said so though.

Agreed, it was a wonderful dive. I decided on the bench design instead of the stand up stations like Ginnie Springs has. As you mentioned, at bench height, it will serve non-divers as well. I consider it a priveledge to dive there and I am proud to donate my resources and time to a worthy facility like Camp Indian Springs and an organization like the Tallahassee YMCA.

That looks awesome! And the bench is nice, too! Thanks for all you do, Vince. It is much appreciated and makes us all look good! Thanks Keith, for all your work, and for the report! It's about time we dived again, eh?

    Default Ferris Bench

Knowing the designer/builder well, that bench won't last a season
