Default A Couple of Qestions About Ginnie

Last time I dove Ginnie we took the Bone Room tunnel. We turned the dive at the 4th set of double arrows on the Bone Room line. Looking at the map it's a little hard to tell where that actually is. Can anyone help me out here?

Also on the 2nd dive we stayed on the main line. I counted 4 sets of double arrows here also. We went a little further than that. We turned the dive at the 900' arrow. It looks like on this dive we were just short of the maple leaf. I think this is where the Bone Room line rejoins with the main line. Is this correct?

The 4th set of arrows on the bone line would be the mudtunnel jump.

Your turn on the main line would be just short of the bone line jump.

The maple leaf is a very characteristic feature. You will know once you see it. The main line is wrapped around it.

From the double arrow on the main line, the bone room line would be high on your right (as you come in).

The shoals are there still, the winds howl loud, the rain beats down, the waves burst strong. Some night, in the chill darkness, someone will make a mistake: The sea will show him no mercy. John T. Cunningham

Yep, It looks like we missed it by less than 50' on both dives. Looks like a good circuit.

    Thanks for the information.

A little off the subject but in everyone's opinion what's the easiset entrance when diving Ginnie using a scootter?

I will be on a UV-26. I usually spend most of my time at Jackson Blue on the scootter.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the hijack.

The ear is by far the easiest. Just stay full throttle and hug the left wall. If you stop, that UV26 will be a major PITA to deal with in the flow. You can dial the scooter down and go through the eye as well, but it's a tad more difficult and takes longer.

Depends on how you feel about the five rules of safe cave diving.

I like the 5 rules. So what's your suggestion?

I've noticed a tendency for scooter divers to enter the Ear and exit the Eye.
