    Post UK Old mine diving!!!

    Hi There to all,

I know is this dive reports is mostly USA and Mexico, but I was thinking some one maybe interested on my UK dive reports is well.
Dive site is called: Linley cavern which is an old Limestone mine,,,
which has been explored with CDG members,
Myself and my friend Steve we are going there diving all the time.
Our last dive which was a pretty long penetration and last deco stop on 5mt I seen a long passage, so after the dive I told my friend we should have look next time.
So we went back with 12twins and 7 stages, and some explorer reel, I put only 160 mt line I didn't know it how long is going to be the passage, So I was reeling and Steve was behind me to do the ties,,
Why he was doing the ties is because isn't that easy to do there is not like in Mexico every meter a tiding point or so , some times you see one and you going for it and you start and you put the final tie on it and the rock is just despaired...
So is do much easy er to do with to man and using snoopy loops.
I did about a meter a way from the main line my primary tie off, and we went of and it went as I thought on the first time,,
We explored 140mt in this tunnel it wasn't deeper than between 5mt and 8.5mt .
So we finally find a last tie of for our line and cut the line of from the reel.
on the way back we seen two more side passage from our lad line.
So it will be interesting to going back and do some more exploration.
I will come back to this forum and let you know how was it.

    Thanks for your time,
    With regards
    Zoltan[/B]

    Mike,

I suppose the maximum depth of 25ft in this british cave is not comparable to the depth
of those caves in Arkansas on the DVD you gave to me on the CDS workshop, but if you should go there, let me know cause the UK is much closer than Florida for me.

    Happy New Year

We are always happy to hear bout more great dive reports form other places. I mean FL is not the only place to dive. Look at what we get up here in MO and what has been done in AR. I know we do not have as many but I bet in time we will be able to get a few more open for the general public to dive with hard work and help form CDS or even the NACD. Just think, how large the oginizations are and were most come from outside of FL. I even konw of a few that are in other states to the north but like many outside of FL, not that they are guided but you need to guid to find them and to get the permision to dive them.

Keep up the post about your dives in your country. Lets hedar bout them from all over.

    Default old mines! in UK

    Hi Zoltan,

looks like Doncaster is located some between Hull and Manchester, a pretty long ride from Germany, but I hopefully will be able to come for a visit (sooner or later) as some relatives of mine live in the UK too.
