I made my first 2 dives at Mine LamOtte yesterday. This place is really interesting. It has some rock formations that remind me of being in Florida, has some mining equipment that reminds me of being at Bonne Terre Mine and water temp that makes me feel like I am at 100 foot in Lake Michigan. Since it was my first dives there, we kept the dive plan simple. Went down the main line to the elevator shaft before tunring back. Dive was right at an hour, 62 foot max depth. Vis was 15-20 foot, which my dive buddies told me was bad for this place. Second dive was in the main tunnel, then we cut over to the Bat Cave (or batless, because I didnt see any bats, although you could see their droppings all over the bottom of the cave) It gets really shallow here, so we popped up briefly to discuss the next stage of the dive, which was just a nice easily paced swim down the old mine tunel. This dive was also just around an hour, with same vis and water temp. At no point in any of the dives did I notice any kind of flow.
