Ginnie Pass

Can someone explain to me how the Ginnie pass works? I've never been one to spend $350 on it, seeing as how the state park pass has way more diving and it's only $80 to get you AND your dive buddy in.

However, now that I go to school at UCF, there's several nights when I get home late Friday to see the parents, and a Ginnie pass would be great since they're the only cave open. I do some weekend work with a photographer here in town often, which covers all my gas money and gives me a decent salary to justify the drive...it'd be nice to go diving those friday nights that I have to come home to dive Saturday! Also I'm guessing there's a very good chance my intro class is at Ginnie, since LR vis isn't all that great yet, and that's 2 days, so the first $64 of the pass would be covered.

Do I just show it at the gate or what? Can I get a wristband 24/7 or does it have to be before a certain time? Can I get a friend in? It might be hard getting a buddy to come with me who has to pay $32 at 9pm to get 3 hours of diving before he has to leave....

Pay the money and you get to dive 24/7 for 365 days. You can go dive in the middle of the night if you like. Plus, it's where all the college chicks go tubing. Impress the ladies with the cave diving and chill out with them on the SI.

there's a very good chance my intro class is at Ginnie

I can't find the standards online, but there USED to be a set minimum number of sites that had to be dived at each level. You couldn't do an entire level's worth of dives at one location.

Maybe that has changed, though.

I'm thinking since the other sites are blown a bunch of classes are being done at ginnie.
my intro class was all at ginnie.

I think the limit I read was 2 dive spots. No need to guess though, I'm sure an instructor will read this and comment. Either way, I think Ginnie may be the only option.

Cavern is minimum 2 for PADI. We recently did the class for a couple friends at Ginnie and Jug. Jug is now closed tho, till Fall.

Yes there are, but we didn't want our friends to have to pay another open water diving fee for the subsequent day.

Not to mention, the place was quite packed with cave divers given all other systems blown and I don't think they would have taken too kindly to two cavern students running lines and blocking their entry at the Eye and Ear.

So, we were thinking of saving face for our students, plus we had Jug all to ourselves.
