Smile Hand Truck (dolly) for SM tanks

Been looking at options and these are the two leading candidates. The toe (base plate) seems small and concerned that tanks will slip off even with bungees. Prefer something small and foldable. Don?t always have a ton of room in the car - especially when carpooling.

    Option 1:

    Option 2:

    Advice and suggestions greatly appreciated.

I know space isn't an option, but prefer the handtrucks that are solid construction and have large pneumatic tires. I found that small, hard tires tend not to roll across gravel, loose dirt, sticks etc very well.

I don't know whether they're sold in the US but I see lots of people using something like the 'Eckla Beach Rolly' over here. They're made to go over sand and you can fold them up.

I tried using the small, folding hand carts. They never had enough capacity and they break very fast, not matter what they "say" the capacity is.

I'm using the convertible 2-wheel, 4 wheel hand truck, and it works great. I can haul everything in one trip.

When I flew to Florida to go diving, I bought a hand truck ($80) after I got to Florida. Before I flew back, I donated it to my favorite Florida dive shop. They were very pleased and it was a nice way to give the shop a gratuity. They promise that I can borrow it back from them next time I'm in town.

Agree Kelly. Thinking about going back to a large pickup for my vehicle. Really miss the extra space!

I like that one! Is that the one you have in Branford or down south? If south.... bring it with you

    I use the RocknRoller R2RT.

Great as a cart for getting my gear from the shed to the car or on pavement or boardwalk; OK as a hand truck on dirt/sand/gravel; useless as a cart on those soft surfaces — those two hard wheels just sink in. If I was getting something new I’d spring for 4 pneumatic tires — more expensive but much easier to use — easy to get 5 tanks to the water in one trip.

We usually lay the tanks on their side and use a heavy duty cart from Home Depot with larger pneumatic tires.
