Bozel Spring, located near Florida Caverns State Park in Marianna, is a well known and highly sought after cave on the Chipola River.
In 2015 and 2016 several members of the CDF joined forces to explore additional passage and more than double the original length of line. The team members were Rob Neto, Eric Alexander, Tracy Niesent and Mike Baker.
Exploration began with approx. 2200' of line and in late 2015 the survey showed a total of 5200'.
Anyone who has been close to the EOL in Bozell knows the traditional three T's. The new exploration introduced another 8 T's, adding quite a bit of diversity but also bringing more complexity to the navigation.
As a result the core team decided to improve overall safety in the cave and upgraded the main line to gold today.
We're happy to announce that the main conduit in Bozell to around 1370' is now sporting gold line.
Thank you to the entire team and especially to Rob and Eric for the gold line upgrade today!
