FSI Research Continues at Springs along the Silver, Ichetucknee, and Homosassa Rivers

The Springs Institute recently received renewals for several permits to allow staff and volunteers to continue to collect data from springs along the Silver, Ichetucknee, and Homosassa Rivers.

The permits allow Institute staff and SpringsWatch volunteers to collect readings in our springs for dissolved oxygen, pH, conductivity, and temperature. Our scientists and volunteers are able to measure water clarity and the transmission of light during monthly sampling events. The permits also allow for the collection of water chemistry samples and visual surveys of fish and aquatic plants in the spring runs.

The data collected by Institute staff and SpringsWatch volunteers is then organized and presented in interim reports that help track spring health. You can access our most recent reports below:
