Spring into the Springs Day at Manatee Springs

The NSS-CDS needs volunteers to help out Manatee Springs state park, during their event March 21, 2015. Contact me if you are interested in helping.

Manatee Springs would like to have the NSS-CDS at our Springs Event. The Event Goals and the NSS-CDS Mission are well matched. Hope to have NSS-CDS here.

The “Spring into the Springs Day” will be a one day event on the first Saturday of spring. The date of the 2015 event will take place on Saturday March 21st 2015. The main goal of the event is to increase the visitors understanding of how a spring system and it’s natural communities are tied together within the springs recharge basin, also how we can have positive effects and eliminate negative effects on the spring system. A secondary goal is to promote activities within these natural communities with a minimum impact on those natural communities. The event will have organizations that are interested in protecting the springs and the natural communities within the springs recharge basin.

I have volunteered to do an evening presentation for the film show. It would be great to have a solid turnout by the cave diving community to reach out to our neighbors in Manatee Springs community.

...Plus the conditions are awesome there right now including a couple of manatees that have been consistently hanging around this winter in the Main Spring.
