    Default Manatee Springs

I just received an Email from a cave diving buddy who lives in NC and he said that Peacock is now closed. I was to dive it with Ranger Chris tomorrow but as of now it looks like those plans have gone by the wayside.
Anyone know what the scoop is in Manatee?
This could mean that we have only one choice for the North Florida section.

Yeah that's me, though I was talking about Manatee, like Al's title mentions. Al just called me a couple hours ago and said the Catfish Hotel entrance is still open. Thanks Al, looking forward to diving with ya again.

Thanks for the replies, good suggestions. I'm planning to hit up Ginnie Springs also. From what I hear it sounds like the Yosemite of FL...absolutely beautiful but absolutely packed.

Manatee is closed to swimmers. Catfish hotel is open for Scuba Diving. I just got back and the water is up and the flow is down. Great dive with Ranger Chris.

Manatee was in rare form this weekend. Enough flow to keep it moving from Friedman down to Catfish. But much better vis than normal I could see most of the walls during the entire dive which is rare for Manatee. The river is completely over the head spring and vis is close to zero there so be sure and exit at Catfish. We also popped our heads up at Sue sink which is now flowing out and the water in the sink is much higher than normal creating a mini-Catfish hotel like sink. Anyway awesome dives and great conditions. Manatee is our reward for all the other springs getting flooded!

We dove it last week and had no problem swimming to Sue and further from Catfish. I dove it with rian N. and Brandon C. Both are Intro Divers and neither had any issues on gas management. I enjoyed going slow and for the first time I could see wal to wall and also study the ceiling.
Sue was beautiful and you are right, the catfish were from th entrance at Catfish all the way to Sue.
I am although getting a little tired of Catfish and Ginnie.
Ready for the water to get back to normal so I can dive Little Tiver, Orange, Peacock, Cow, Madison Blue, and others.

Any update from this weekend would appreciated! Curious as to how the past week's rains may have impacted vis/flow/etc. thanks!
