Wakulla Award/Abe Davis
Hey!
I'm trying to get serious about logging some dives for Wakulla/Abe Davis award.
Has anyone been through the process?
Specifically, I'm wondering if I need to get a dive buddy to physically sign the log after each dive, or if just having their name is sufficient. From what I gather, I'll need to submit the log to my instructor to sign off on.
Appreciate any input.

The awards person is apparently drunk with power and rejected my application repeatedly until every single item was cosigned and verified...... Oh Wait, that was my parole application (and apparently those are pretty easy to fake in FL now).
Seriously, We like to think we are adults here (as in trustworthy). Faking dives on one of these serves no real purpose. Just put the time in and enjoy the journey, right?
I logged all my dives in a spreadsheet. They were not all cosigned, in fact none were. Completed my award app. Had one of my instructors check my docs out and sign the app. He asked me a couple questions about the dives. Sent the stuff in and PRESTO! One of the Shirleys approved it. Easy as having my wife make a cake

Pretty much the same for the Wakulla award too.
Abe Davis is 100 dives the Wakula is 100 dives or 100 hours in the cave zone.
For the Abe Davis, no buddy signature is required. Once you have 100 logged, any CDS instructor (doesn't have to have been yours), board member, or the Abe Davis coordinator can review your log and sign the application. You can then mail the completed form and a copy of your cave c-card to the address on the application (email or snail mail). Yes, Kelly is right on the clarification, thanks! The dive counts start once you complete "Cave" or its equivalent.
