i took a manatee springs first timer there today. we had a great dive swimming from catfish to friedman, turned a couple hundred psi from thirds, and had a gentle ride back out to catfish hotel. we spent some time poking around in the cavern zone and then had another slow ride down the syphon to the spring. vis was amazing, none of the usual milky particulate between catfish and friedman. flow is way down, and only super noticeable in the usual spots. honestly by swim, i mean gently frog kicked the whole way. no hiding from the flow, and none of that pull and gliding. water level was low. warning: don't use the new swim steps at catfish, they were installed against the platform and there is no room for your foot. i'm sure the state contracted with the lowest bidder to put these things in, and while the intentions were good, it's an epic failure. i'm seriously considering going back tomorrow and putting in at friedman while the flow is down. neither one of us own scooters so this would be a nice opportunity to see some more of the cave while we can swim it.

    Thanks for the report.
