Default trip reports: Bozelle,Eagle's Nest, Manatee

    3 Great dives!

I got to Marianna Thursday evening, in time to enjoy Stacy's AMAZING lasagna. Jason Richards and I went to Bozelle on Friday. He has a canoe with a small outboard which made the trip upriver very enjoyable. I'm SO glad I didn't have to paddle. This was my first trip to Bozelle and I was very excited! It was absolutely beautiful! The 3 restrictions weren't too bad. Jason was a great dive buddy and we had a fabulous dive. Flow wasn't too bad. That was awesome! I can't wait to go back. I was glad Jason didn't point out the alligators til after we finished our dive.

Friday night I met Bil Lindstrom and Mark Sumners to drive to Homosassa Springs. Mark let us stay at his house. We got up Saturday morning and drove to Eagle's Nest. This was my 2nd trip to Eagle's Nest. Last time we went upstream, this time we went down.

We went 650' back to the Pit. We swam through the restriction down to about 295'. I was hoping for 300' but 295' was the bottom that day. I dove 13/50 with 32% and 100% for deco. Total dive was about 100 minutes with about 55 min of deco.

Mark took us to a sandwich shop for lunch by the dive shop he frequents. Sandwiches were big and good! After a good night's sleep we got up early to drive to Manatee Springs. This was my first trip to Manatee as well.

We toted our gear almost 300 yards to the Friedman's Sink entrance. We dove 32% with 100% for deco. We scootered back to almost 4000' then cut off the scooters and floated back to the entrance. It took us almost 45 minutes to get upstream and about the same to get back. 12 minutes of deco What an amazing dive!

Thanks to Jason, Mark and Bil for being my dive buddies. Thanks for good advice which will be taken.

    Thumbs up

    Jean,

It's in the same parking lot as Birds Underwater in Crystal River. Perhaps Mark (Eel) will chime in with the name of the place. I can attest to the size and goodness of the sandwiches - the place is excellent!
