Default Nice news bit about Jackson Blue

Poor Stacy. I am sure Edd's staring role has gone to his head.

That's great! I'm not sure how it is that all those different nationalities all came at one time, but it was a fun story!

Land of Enchantment -- not so great for cave diving, but mighty scenic!

    DEMA...

JB was extremely crowded. Lines criss-crossing all over the cavern and visibility was down to 30-40' yesterday in the front of the cave. We also had to stop and wait during our exit while a "train" of 8 divers came down the chimney.

You Florida cave divers are sooo spoiled! We're hoping for 15' vis tomorrow at Roubidoux. Had 30-40' last weekend and it was by far the best I have ever seen in that system.

Very cool to have good publicity without any of the "most dangerous sport in the world" crap. Good job.

Now, now! We have our own low visibility systems in Florida. It's all a matter of perspective, though. Jackson Blue is usually clear as can be so when it drops to 30-40' it makes a big difference.

Of course, Rob. Just yankin' your chain. But I do find it amusing any time any diver anywhere complains of vis that is ONLY (anything more than 10 ft.).

So you're saying that there were some divers there who had poor technique? Kicking up the bottom?

I know, Bill! I was happy to have 15' of vis in Roubi when I was there...and 50' of vis in Cannonball!

I'm sure there were some divers with poor technique, but more so was all the divers in the cave at the same time. It was so bad someone started reeling in a primary and just dropped it about 20' in the cavern, probably because there were at least another 1/2 dozen primaries in already. Not really a prudent decision and it did make us shake our heads. Fortunately, I was teaching a DPV class and we were able to get past the dust and into decent visibility pretty quickly!

BTW, wish I could have been in Roubi with 30-40' of vis. That would have been fabulous to see!!!

You Missouri cave divers are sooo spoiled. We hope for 15' vis any day, but we're happy with 6.
