Default Untrained cave diving in the DR

this dive shop is called GriGri divers in Bayahibe and the penetration they do in this video is about 1000 feet of full cave, they totally ignore the warning signs and as you can see it is all OW gear OW divers, no training etc..
it is amazing to see what a blatant disregard for safety these irresponsible dive shops have.

Write up a complaint to PADI. Use the video as proof.

I left a comment. Not that any of these idiots will care.

I did send it to PADI and I also sent a message to the guy who posted it explaining the dangers involved etc..

I'm willing to bet your comments will be deleted in short order.

That and a University of Indiana teacher continuously taking open water students into Padrea, (a cave in the DR) well beyond the cavern zone to conduct a required underwater archeological course.

Than when PADI (teacher is only a Padi ow instructor) and the University was notified by letters of concern by more than qualified divers, they all decided to sweep it under the carpet as it was no concern to them for the safety of the students.

It will be a sad day when one of these young students does not return to the surface, but (if the divers concerned) have anything to do with it, at least their parents will be lots richer!

Yeah, but they can't do anything about a thumbs down on the video.

But the situation is even worse than with Indiana diver these dive shops do this on a regular basis almost daily and could not care less about safety, what will end up happening is someone will get killed and they will close the caves in Bayahibe 100% for sure.

I was not comparing one to the other, just adding an example of disregard for safety.
One is conducted by a local business while the other is by a established educational university, who prides themselves as professional educators.

I agree with you 100% and in fact it is extremely lucky that no one on the Indiana University team has not died yet, they mostly go to Padre Nuestro which unlike El Chicho silts out really bad, not that the penetrations at El Chicho are any better but at least there is less chance of a silt out and they do not go with 8-10 people at a time or do they?
