    Default tire slashed at Ginnie

At about 9:30 this morning, while parked in the Devil parking lot at Ginnie, someone slashed my left front tire. There is no question this was vandalism, and not a tire puncture. I watched as the tire went from 1/3 full to flat in about 2 minutes, which means the puncture took place about 5 minutes before that time. I was backed into my parking space, under the tree (for shade) across from the palvilion.

Sounds like an angry woman to me.
Sure you didn't just run over something? Slashing a tire isn't that easy and would be pretty noticeable.

Sorry to hear that but it's one more reason to stay away from that area in the Summer!

A slashed tire goes flat in 10 to 30 seconds, depending on the quality of the knife.
Sounds like a piece of glass or nail. People generally stick a knife in the side where the tire is easier to cut.
When you try to get it fixed the tire guy willl see a elongated cut and tell you it can't be fixed.
Every once in a while you will see someone cut a valve stem, they leak slower most of the time.

    Interesting.

You can easily see an elongated cut on the side of the tire, about 3/4 of an inch. AAA, who replaced the tire with the spare for me, said the tire is not repairable, and told me it was cut by a knife.

however the cut got there, I'm guessing the tire deflated in about 4 minutes. I had already been parked for about 40 minutes. I had put my tanks in the water, taken a long hot shower and got my wetsuite on. That is when the people next to me mentioned the flat tire, just after I returned from the shower.

I have had tears in my tires from running over stuff, thats why I asked. My "cuts" were irregular shaped and obviously a tear.
Either way its a PIA. Sorry it happened.

It would take some balls to cut a tire with those crowds during the day. Im not saying it didnt happen but I would probably write it off as a road hazard, unless you pissed somebody off down there before the dive, or maybe scoff at someones openwater gear. Those leg knives can make a nice tire cut you know.

Good thing this didn't happen at EN, you would still be there

It's bad luck to be superstitious.
