Default I did Taj Muhal and Car Wash last week

I organized a trip to Cozumel for a small group of OW divers. On Tuesday and Thursday of last week I took the ferry over to Playa del Carmen for some cave dives. Since I was by myself I hired a guide. I was originally supposed to dive with Bill but he was busy teaching so I dove with Allesandra Figari with www.enjoydiving.com. On the first day we did two dives at Taj Muhal. The first dive was into the Chinese Garden. Beautiful room with super halocline on the way in. On the second dive we went to the shell room. Just amazing. On Thursday we dove Car Wash. The first dive was upstream to the room of tears. Even the first 500' getting to the mian line is gorgeous. The second dive was downstream until the circuit starts back. It was a great trip. I want to go back and skip Cozumel.

I saw both of those caves during my full cave training. I didn't see much on the way out, but what I saw coming in was amazing. Room of tears was my favorite. I'm definitely looking to book another trip back there. Glad you enjoyed it!

It's been several years but I used to be able to tie in with a 400-foot reel. I wonder: Has the line has been moved farther back in the tunnel?

I don't think so. I got there w/ a 400' reel, but not much to spare.

I have to admit I was guessing on the 500'. From open water we used her entire 350' reel (maybe it was short but it looked full), plus an entire spool that I figured was at least 100' or more and we were still about 2' too short so we used another spool. The point is that you get to do a beautiful cave dive before yu ever get to the mian line.

It sure as hell feels like 500' when you are the one pulling the reel . I agree though, the first part of that cave is beautiful as well. Especially coming back out into the lighted cavern zone.
