Default Mr. "DIC" was at Ginnie

Dove Ginnie this afternoon. I saw DIC carved on the cave wall. There was also another set of initial on top and a spanish/portuguese word on the bottom. Three lines total. All appeared to have been carved at the same time. Letters were 2-3" tall and carved pretty deep (1/4" at least).

Hopefully, the other set of initial and the word might be helpful the find the as@#%$

I just emailed Kelly with details and location. I don't think it would be a problem to divulge all the info here but I'm waiting to hear from Kelly first just in case.

I saw this turds (YES!! YOU MOST CERTAINLY ARE!!) handy work inside Cow this weekend. Why doesn't this p.o.s. just add a "K" to the end of his psuedo initials so as to at least give a clue to his true inner-self and what are most likely repressed homosexual leanings.
I'm guessing this scumbags white trash Mommy didn't pay enough attention to him as a child so this is his way of getting attention.
If I was diving and saw this occuring I would have a very difficult time restraining myself from commiting first degree murder but most likely I would just get a good look at the gear config, call my dive, and wait for his sorry ass to exit the cave where a gang of pissed of cavers will be waiting.
Whom ever you are....rest assured, one of us is going to catch you in the act and make you pay. You will rue the day you ever left the ghetto and your Mommie's skirt.

P.S. I'm identifying this dirtbag as a "he". Women don't typically do this kind of infantile stuff and I.M.O...This p.o.s. has an axe to grind.

Someone on the Deco Stop mentioned the arrows and messages drawn in the floor last year in the Devil's system were also about this time last year - which was also around the time of DEMA last year.

    DEMA Show 2007: October 31-November 3.

It looks like we may have an infrequent but unwelcome group of cave diving visitors drawn through the area by the event at DEMA. Very likely cave trained and very likely diving with a buddy.

At least it should give us some more names to work with. Ginnie should still have the sign in forms.

Any idea how long the writing has been at Ginnie? Is it recent or could it have been dated back from the time of the other vandalisms?

This makes me think there should be a sign in at Peacock, in case of problems you have some names to create a short list.

If what people post are to be believed, and what is being conjectured is true.... there's a good chance that the culprit(s) is(are) from another country.

I've traveled the world, and in a lot of other countries, the standards of behavior are *much* different than we have here in the US of A. Many rural folks think it's entirely acceptable to throw their trash where ever. Eat a candy bar, finish it, drop the wrapper. It horrifies me, but that's the way many people operate.

So, if this really is the situation, I think it's a big mistake to call them "scumbags, "POS's," and "homosexual leanings." You'll just piss them off and not get them to understand the whole concept of being conservation-minded.

Of course, you have to be totally firm that grafitti is completely unacceptable, and in the US, prosecutable in some cases. But if you work to teach people a better way without insulting them, you'll probably get a better result.

For instance--I'm wayyyy into recycling. I used to rag on people about recycling. I don't think it ever did any good. They all came up with excuses or were flippant. Now, if I see an aluminum can in someone's trash, I ask them "Do you mind if I recycle this for you?" I've gotten several people to tell me that they've started recycling because of me. And it's only been since I've been "nice."

Ya catch more flies with honey than s---.

    Default cave carving

Is there any one in charge of this investigation?

Seems like a lot of information out there.

Though this may sound far fetched, but next time someone passes by one of these 'DIC' 'signatures' why don't you scrape a little bit of the engraving from the clay wall into a sealable container & bring it out for DNA testing-! If this perp is this careless about what he does, than he may very well have left his 'thumb prints' in his markings. Certainely we must know somebody in a crime lab in Jax or Tallie or even @ UF's school of criminology where these scrapeings could be analized-! Just a thought.

Sounds ever so slightly xenophobic. Rural people..... Maybe Xenophobic is not the right word......
