    Default Peacock defaced too

I understand from an instructor we have staying with us that there is new writing in Peacock as well.

The guys that saw the damage in Cow compared notes. It's the same lettering, same guy(s).

Hopefully the Rusty/Eric team or James will get pictures up of the damage in Cow soon.

DEMA was going on this past weekend, drew a lot of people in from all over the country if not the world.

Make a mental note of who you ran into this past week, no finger pointing, dosen't mean it wasn't somebody that lives here, just store it in your memory banks.

Did you see anybody with bolt cutters in their car/truck amongst all the dive gear? Dosen't mean they are the culprits but it certainly puts them on the short list.

Are there initials D I C , do these letters mean anything to them? Their initials, their girlfriends initials, their dog? Who the F knows, maybe they were trying to spell dick but too damn stupid to spell it right, but it's significant to them in some way. The same three letters were carved in both caves.

Maybe it's someone who just uses that word alot, keep your ears open.

It's bad luck to be superstitious.

The non solo rule at Peacock is pretty well enforced. I just don't see how a team could have done that together. Although it could be easy for the last team member to write something down without the first guy noticing. I think anyone that got caught diving solo or attempted to dive solo recently should be looked at at.

Imagine my pleasure catching them in the act of defacing the cave.

a)Do we have a legal fund and bailbondsman account set up for members of the CDF?

    b) Would their medical expenses and/or burial costs be covered under DAN?

    c) Would anyone on this forum mind if I kept their gear?

    a) No, but I'll pitch in.

    b) Hopefully not. Just toss 'em off a tailgate in the sticks somewhere.

    c) Go for it. Hell, I'll even pay for a trophy for you.

    Valve shutdown drill?

Let's turn this one, nope still writing.
Let's try this one, nope still writing.
What about this one? Hey, they stopped.

Should I have turned the others back on before turning them all off?
Can't remember, been too long since class.
    Oh well, they stopped.

I wouldn't go THAT far, but a no mask exit swim would send a message.
Or at least let Janet and the Peacock staff have their way with them.

Mike this is really bad. To intentionally deface the caves for some sick purpose, I hope doesn't indicate the types of new cave divers we are now certifying. The letters you described almost seem like a gang thing...just my thoughts.

    Default Newly Intro to Cave

I'm a brand new Intro to Cave diver - the only thing I can say is I would never do something like this. I hope most old and new cave divers would feel the same. Which I think is very true - as these events are rare. Unfortunately a few bad apples can do a lot of damage.

    Default cave damage

Where is the damage located in PSSP?

That may also be helpful information to us in identification of the culprits.

I believe that it was between P1 and olsen on the main gold line. I remember seeing some damage last sunday and thought to myself "who the hell did This!!" Although it could be between Olsen and crossover, I don't remember exactly.

Would anyone have a problem if I decided to get a little clay and tried to repair it very carefully?
