I have a Halcyon Pro 6, 10 watt HID with a broken lamp. Is there any alternative to paying the outrageous price of $126 for a replacement lamp?

Other than go back to halogen, no.

I'm not familiar with the bulb that light uses. Is it the same as the helios? If so I might be able to help out.

Jammer, thanks for the better wording!
Chunky.
I had my Dive-Rite 10w HID light go out on me while diving the Jug Hole last month. I've had it for almost 3 years and I've always been careful not to drop it. When I first bought it I was told that the replacement bulb was expensive at around $70.00 but that the bulb life was such that replacement was rarely necessary. I was shocked, stunned, appalled and horrified when I had to pay $148.73 (with tax) to replace the bulb. That was almost as much as I payed 4 days lodging and it really put a damper on my vacation budget. I still got plenty of diving in but I ate out less and cut my trip short by a day. I'm not poor or a tight wad and I don't Cave Dive on the cheap but $150.00 for a freaking lightbulb is nothing short of outrageous.Had I known I probably would have gone with a Halogen light. I'm stuck with it now. I'm not whining, Just venting......Grrrrrrrrr!!!

For the 10W helios users....
The UK light cannon bulb is the same as that used in the Halcyon Helios 10W. PM me for a place to get one for $65.95.![]()

Thanks Gibby.
It looks like the same bulb from the picture. The link for the manufacturers specs take you to Welch Allyn which is the company who makes the 10w HID bulb I bought. The specs are the same and the total cost with shipping is around $80.00. Still steep but what are you gonna do?
I'm going to order one and store it in a heavily padded Pelican box wrapped in bubble wrap and Duck tape and stuffed inside a Flak Jacket. That way I'll have a spare.
Would vacuum sealing constitute overkill??![]()
