    Default WTB/WTT Sartek Canister

    Hi All,

I am contemplating a Sartek light canister (used if possible) - in particular the one that is 2.3" x 11" (10.4 Ah?). Does anybody have experience with those and would like to share it? I am used to the "conventional" LM, Halcyon, DR canisters with removable lids etc.

The primary reason is size on the belt and I guess if used with an LED head it could work out well. If the idea seems fruitful I would incorporate an "E/O" cord ...

So my questions are about the ease of charging, the On/Off switch, over-all reliability and user maintenance friendliness. Any feed back is welcome.

    Many thanks.

    Andy

I'm also looking to learn about lights. I've asked a handful of opinions this weekend and light monkey was a name that came up consistently. Any experience with them? Also what were pros and cons of your previous lights?

Really?! Hard to believe that nobody has any feedback. Sartek cannot be that unpopular - can it? Let me know if you have any info on or experience with that canister, please.

    Thanks

Ask the companies Carl (and the attorneys he sold he patents to) sued/put out of business how popular he and his products are outside of the Northeast.

I wouldn't recommend any other lights than Light Monkey.

Ooops - I guess I stepped on a line mine. Unfortunately, I missed all that litigious activity ...

I agree that LM lights are excellent - I have a few of them but I was looking for a narrow diameter canister that can be belt-mounted. I did not mean to pick a scab ...
So I guess there won't be a lot of info forthcoming.

    Thanks for cluing me in.

I think it's a regional thing. Folks in the northeast like the Sartek lights, and folks in Florida like the Florida-based lights.

I can tell you this - I would buy a Sartek light a thousand times over one particular Florida-based light.

(And what's wrong with someone suing to protect their patent? Is there something I don't know about?)

I have a Sartek 18watt HID that is about 10 or so years old, and it has been great. I had Corey at Light Monkey make me some new batteries, and it still works fine.

Cavman - I saw that but it has the switch in the head. I might just call Corey and poke him with some questions ...

    Thanks for everybody's reply.
