Just got home from 6 long days of diving. We dove several systems and seen miles of cave.
11-12-13 I did a dive at Ginnie Running up mainline to about 1300' Vis was excellent, I entered through the Eye flow seemed lower than normal. Max depth of 93' run time of 67 mins.
11-13-13 The next day I met up with Mike Bartlett. Mike and I dove Anderson. The weather was much colder than the day before. Tannic water covered the entrance. The flow was ripping there was no pulling and Glide, It was all pull. This is such a fun dive but exhausting. Max depth was 85' runtime of 40mins.
After Anderson we headed to Jug for a more relaxing dive. Vis was excellent, flow was down from past dives there. Lots of turtles and fish in the grass. One of my favorite dives. We had a nice long exit just poking around. Max depth of 87 and 70 mins.
11-14-13 Still tired from the day before we dove P1 with a plan to go down mainline jump across Olsen take the first jump to the right then jump left to the Crypt. We made it to the EOL turned the dive then headed out. Once back in the Cavern we had plenty of gas to burn so we headed down Peanut to the breakdown room I had to turn the dive here before my bladder burst (Mine not the BC). There was a slight flow coming down the chute on the peanut line. Vis was milky I'd say in the 30' range. We had a runtime of 116 mins.
After some dinner We headed to Cow. We made it about 1500' before turning on thirds. Flow was much higher than my last dive there and the ski rope made life easy. Thanks to those who put in the time to repair it! Vis was great. After a short deco stop we dove downstream. Max depth 104ft 76mins.
11-15-13 We awoke to rainWe decided to dive P3. Vis in the basin was the best I've seen. We made it to the "T" before turning even with a slight Syphon our exit was about 8 mins shorter than the entry. We played in the Cavern and basin for a short period watching the rain from below. Max depth was 65ft, time was 75mins. The rain wasn't letting up so we called it a day.
11-16-13 Mike had to teach a cavern course so I was a cavern students dive buddy. We dove OG and Lower OG in the morning then headed to Peanut that afternoon.
11-17-13 I got in a dive at Little River in the morning. Flow was low until just past the sign at which point it picked up a bit. It still wasn't nearly as bad as I've seen at Little River. Vis was a little milky. I went in turned left at the first "T" made it to the second "T" before exiting. The exit was nice and relaxing riding the flow.
That afternoon I dove Royal. The basin was milky but very pretty. I spent some time in the cavern before heading in. The Line looked old So I ran my own reel in. Silt is very easily disturbed with some percolation. I took it nice and slow. The cave is a mess of lines and featureless. I have since heard the saying about this cave and agree it's dangerous. Probably not worth the risk vs reward. Exit was reduced but still very good. depth was 57ft with a runtime of 56mins.
11-18-13 The next day I joined Mike at Ginnie for Day 1 of Intro class. We entered the Ear Flow as mentioned earlier was way down. Nothing too exciting happened except I got lost a few times, ran out of air, and had all my lights fail. (I love messing with students!)
This morning I had to head back to reality and I'm beat but already missing the Caves. Also checked out Charles it's looking clear. Until next Time.....
